A friend asked me what I think about Dilma Roussef...
I come from a time when two wars were fought and when the Cold War has ended.
I am from a generation who saw economic failure,
but also saw a re-birth of its own country.
I come from a time when dictators are no longer supported,
and
fell one by one.
I know the presidents will all act the same, because
they don’t govern alone.
But
their symbol for a nation means a lot.
I am from a time when a
black man is the US president,
and a
common worker with no college degree is the best president in my country’s history.
I believe in the power of beautiful speeches,
but I believe more in
people’s attitudes.
I know we still have a lot of problems.
But I believe that any obstacle can be
overcome.
I believe that prejudices can be broken
and that humanity is
headed towards better days.
We are at the dawn of a new era, and we all just want
peace.
I still believe in my generation, because
I am one of them.
And one
optimistic spirit resides within me.
You may say that I'm a
Pollyannabut I'm not the only one.
I hope you'll join us
And the world will live as one. (
Imagine!!) I believe in
John Lennon, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and in Lula.
And I believe we can go far
and why not believe in a woman president? I believe in Dilma Rouseff.
This is what I think.
And you, what are your beliefs?
